Trenton, NJ: The New Jersey Manufacturing Caucus presented to NJ Legislators on Wednesday about the need for expanded innovation, job creation, and manufacturing growth needed in the state. The discussion falls on the heels of the CHIPS Act of 2022 and how NJ needs play a bigger role on the national scale. 

Only ten members of the NJ Manufacturing Caucus were selected to speak to Governor Murphy’s team in Trenton, and two are based in Madison, keeping us very well represented in Trenton.

Bill Foley, Jr and John Kennedy, both of Madison, were able to speak their case to Governor Murphy’s team to expand current resources in technology at universities, startup incubators, as well as corporate manufacturing.

He meet with Legislative Manufacturing Caucus with chairs Senator Michael Testa and Senator Linda Greenstein at the Statehouse to discuss the need for NJ to take necessary steps to attain #ChipsAct federal funding, as well as success of the NJ Manufacturing Voucher Program.

One of the key points from the meeting was delivered by Foley: “NJ can go toe-to-toe with Silicon Valley and any other international tech hub, but unfortunately, we never receive any federal funding like the others do.” Bill Foley, Jr is CEO of American Microsemiconductor, Inc, and John Kennedy is the CEO of NJ Economic Development Authority are both based in Madison.
